During the late 1940s, several local businessmen and women realized the pressing need for a local community bank. Organized by Mr. T.E. Murphy, the local real estate and insurance agent, and an early director and officer, the bank obtained a state banking charter in April of 1950 with capital and surplus of $65,000.

The original bank's "downtown corner" location has been expanded twice, quadrupled in size, and its original three employees have grown to over twenty full and part-time employees to accommodate the needs and growth of the community and its customers.

During these 65 years, much has changed. What has not changed, however, is that our entire group of dedicated bank staff and officers look forward to welcoming you into our PSB (Princeville State Bank) family.
